#27 Flexible client-centered management model as an innovative tool for sustainable management system upgrade

Abstract: A flexible client-centered management model (FCMM) is one of the tools that allows a company to form a systemic competence to respond to changing market requirements and customize to the specific customers’ needs. The research [...] Load More purpose is to develop a flexible client-centered management model as an innovative tool for sustainable updating of management systems. A methodological basis of the study involved a systematic approach, methods of priorities, variant, systemic, functional, and comparative analyses, a specific historical approach to the processes under study, and statistical methods for collecting and analyzing data. General scientific methods of cognition, analysis, and synthesis, inductive logic of identifying and delineating the problem area, a deductive approach to finding solutions to the tasks set were applied; an integrated approach to building the research logic was used within the framework of the positivist paradigm. Sociological methods of collecting, processing, and interpreting information were applied; analysis of documents and statistical data, secondary analysis of a number of economic studies on the issues of Agile transformation and the introduction of FCMM in enterprises and the impact on their sustainable development was made. A theoretical analysis of the Agile family management was carried out and interviews were held with managers and employees of industrial enterprises; an algorithm for the sustainable implementation of Agile approaches in the management system of an industrial enterprise was worked out; methodological tools for assessing the economic effect of the Agile transformation of an enterprise were formed; the main factors determining the success or failure of the introduction of flexible management methods were formulated. Scientific novelty of the research is the following: the interpretation of the concept of Agile transformation was clarified; the specific character of the innovative knowledge economy as an environment for the development of learning organizations and client-centered management was identified; the factors that play a decisive role for the successful implementation of flexible approaches to project management and the enterprise management system were systematized, the common mistakes and causes of problems in the Agile transformation were flagged up; the main problems were identified, detailed characteristics of the most important factors of resistance to the introduction of Agile approaches into the management system and organizational environment of enterprises were presented, and a detailed algorithm for the implementation of FCMM by an enterprise was formulated; the necessity of introducing the coefficient of flexibility of the management system and the ability of project management at the enterprise into the calculation of the cost of the enterprise to adapt the product to the client’s request was substantiated; a methodology for assessing the proposed coefficient of flexibility of the enterprise management system, considering the specifics of the industry segment, was suggested; and methodological tools and recommendations for assessing the economic effect of the Agile transformation of the enterprise, its subsequent use were developed.

#26 Linguistic analysis of Chinese political media discourse: structure, features and discursive practices

The research purpose is to develop and test an analytical concept of the Chinese political media discourse in terms of an interdisciplinary approach, which will cover its structure, features, and clarify discursive practices. The basis of the research methodology is an interdisciplinary approach. The methodological tools used include systemic, structural-functional, comparative-political, geopolitical, and cultural-civilizational approaches, methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, modeling, and observation. A number of linguistic methods was applied in the work: linguistic analysis of the text, the method of linguoculturological analysis; syntagmatic analysis, lexicographic method; critical discourse analysis; contextual analysis of the mass media text; elements of statistical processing of language material; descriptive method; semantico-stylistic method; computer analysis of materials of media texts; multimodal analysis; and method of comparative translation analysis. As additional methods, the following are used: multimodal critical discourse analysis, content analysis, and an informant survey (Chinese speakers), as well as a number of political science methods: the method of definitional analysis, index techniques, case study, and content analysis. The research material was the media texts of the Chinese media resources, including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. A systematic, many-sided, and detailed description of the current state and changes that have taken place in linguistics over the past ten years was presented in view of the conceptualization of the phenomenon of “political Internet media discourse”, and its extrapolation to the phenomenon of “CPMD”; the main linguistic and discursive features of political Internet communication in China were revealed; and a description of the discursive practices of the CPMD was introduced into the scientific circulation of media Synology. The novelty of the research is the following: the concept of the “Chinese political media discourse” was formulated; for the first time, a comprehensive description of the CPMD structure and discursive practices as institutional and manipulative was carried out; for the first time, a sample of the evidence-based material of the Chinese political media segment (CPMS) was processed using the author-developed methodology; the author-developed methodology was first-ever applied when working with the Chinese-language media; for the first time in a comprehensive study, the methodology of computer analysis by means of QDA MINER and other mixed methods of research, was applied to the CPMD; it was proved that discursive practices in the Chinese media are often associated with the main foreign policy processes of the PRC, but not always, due to the complementarity of the processes of mediatization of politics and politicization of the media.

#25-med Type 1 diabetes mellitus and pregnancy: assessment of glycemic profile variability as the basis of insulin therapy strategy

Abstract: Currently, there is practically no evidence base confirming or refuting the effect of pathological glucose variability, the duration of hyperglycemic and hypoglycemic states on the frequency and severity of pregnancy complications in women with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM). The research purpose is to develop criteria for assessing the state of carbohydrate [...] Load More metabolism (CM) in pregnant women with type 1 diabetes to determine the insulin therapy strategy and management tactics. The methodology used in the work is based on current approaches to the examination and treatment of patients with type 1 DM during pregnancy. The work was carried out according to the design of a comparative prospective study of the case-control type. The analytical method, empirical methods of observation, comparison, and logical analysis were used; methods for assessing the state of the CM were applied; an assessment of glucose variability, a study of indicators of the hemostasis system, an assessment of the frequency and severity of obstetric complications, as well as the condition of newborns from mothers with type 1 DM on a percentile scale were carried out; the results of using various regimens of insulin therapy for type 1 DM during pregnancy were analyzed; a prognostic model for the development of endothelial damage, the frequency and severity of obstetric complications in women with type 1 DM and the degree of perinatal complications were developed; indicators of the duration of hyperglycemia and the duration of the hypoglycemic state during the day, the degree and duration of glucose variability were studied; the relationship between glucose variability, the duration of hyperglycemic, hypoglycemic state, and endothelial damage, disorders in the hemostasis system in such women during pregnancy were demonstrated; the advantage of a regimen of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion in achieving euglycemia during the day, reducing glucose variability, reducing the frequency and severity of hypoglycemic episodes, and reducing obstetric and perinatal complications in the examined women was confirmed; the prognostic significance of CM indicators was studied and confirmed; optimal management of pregnancy in women with type 1 DM was developed. Novelty of research: a comprehensive assessment of the parameters of CM in pregnant women with type 1 DM was carried out; the duration of hyperglycemia during the day, the duration of hypoglycemia, and the assessment of glucose variability using estimated coefficients were studied; for the first time, a comparative analysis of CM indicators was carried out in pregnant women with type 1 DM who used the regimen of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion, and in pregnant women who received multiple insulin injections; the advantage of the regimen of continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion in achieving target glycemic values in pregnant women with type 1 DM, reducing the variability of glucose concentration and the frequency of hypoglycemic episodes when using various functions of the insulin pump was substantiated; it was proven that pathological glucose variability is a predictor of endothelial damage, it leads to disruption in the hemostasis system, reduces the functional state of the kidneys, and increases the frequency and severity of preeclampsia in pregnant women with type 1 DM; positive correlation dependence of pathological glucose variability and duration of hyperglycemic conditions in mother and neonatal complications in newborns from mothers with type 1 DM were revealed.

#24-law Methodological foundations for investigating transnational crimes: a model approach

Abstract: In the modern world, the scale of transnational criminal activity (TCA) is regularly increasing. In modern legal sciences, there is an extensive literature dealing with the issues of transnational crimes (TC), however, a comprehensive methodological approach to the problem of TC investigation has not been carried out. In this regard, the research purpose [...] Load More is to develop a methodological conception for investigating TC based on an analysis of the existing theoretical provisions of forensic science, determining the research methodology guidelines, and studying judicial practice and the practice of investigating TC. The methodology and research methods include the provisions of the general philosophical methodology and the methodology of jurisprudence and criminalistics. The following methods are used: statistical, historical, and legal methods; logical-legal and modeling methods, both traditional mental modeling and modeling using frame models, and the method of formalizing models. The theoretical research basis is the works related to philosophy and science of the methodology of legal science and the theory of state and law, semiotics of informatics, mathematics, forensic cybernetics and artificial intelligence, operational-investigative activities, criminology, criminal law, and the criminal procedure in international criminal law. Scientific novelty of the research is the following: a holistic forensic methodology for organizing the investigation of TC and a methodological justification for the possibility of using information modeling were developed; for the first time, the terminological and conceptual apparatus was systematized and clarified on a conceptual basis; models that reflect the TCA specifics and the methodological foundations for the use of frame models in forensic science were developed; the strategic foundations for countering TC at the international and domestic levels were considered; the category “strategy for investigating transnational crimes” was substantiated as a particular forensic strategy; a model of its correlation with the national strategy for combating crime was proposed; a procedural (algorithmic) model of the strategy for investigating TC was presented.

The theoretical basis of the study includes the scientific works devoted to the development of theoretical and methodological provisions for the management of enterprises’ innovative activities, the rationalization of managerial methods and tools, the specification and technologization of these processes. In the research, methods of structural analysis and synthesis, generalization, analogy, system analysis, optimization, economic, and mathematical modeling were used. The substantiation of the optimal structure of the process under study was carried out within the framework of systemic, situational, process-related, and functional methods. A model for the development of MIEIA and dynamic simulation models for the dependence of the efficiency of industrial enterprises’ production and innovation activities on the factors of innovative development were elaborated; the system of progressive information support for MIEIA was justified.

#21 Western European influence on the residential architecture in China at the end of the 19th – the first half of the 20th centuries (case study of Guangdong Province)

Abstract: The active phase of the development of eclecticism at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries significantly changed the Chinese settlements’ appearance, in particular in the Guangdong province, which, due to its special geopolitical position, is an outpost for the development of the European presence. Determination of the influence of [...] Load More European and national architecture on the formation of residential and public buildings in China of this period is at the initial stage of development. The reserach purpose is to identify the features of the formation of the eclectic architecture of residential buildings in China in the late 19th – early 20th centuries in the Guangdong province. In the study, literary, digital, cartographic, photo and video sources were studied and analyzed; expeditions to China and Southeast Asia were organized. At the same time, the method of observation and study of the source base was widely used. The descriptive method was applied to describe the compositional and stylistic features, planning solutions, urban planning situation of the objects under consideration. The comparison method allowed comparing the studied buildings with the samples of national architecture and European settlements’ architecture of the late 19th – first half of the 20th century. The historical-geographical analysis was carried out; the hypothetical-deductive method was used alongside with the method of graphic modeling and mapping. The periodization of the development of the Chinese-Western regional architecture and the principles of its distribution and correlation with the level of Europeanization were proposed; an extended typological classification of the main types of eclectic architecture in the region was developed. Based on the data obtained, the transformation of both Western and traditional architectural elements in the course of the development of eclectic architecture was analyzed, considering the peculiarities of the perception of semantics by the local population. The levels of such a transformation of Western techniques and elements and the degree of their integration in each of them were singled out. The prototypes of Sino-Western architecture were identified and systematized; the periodization of the development of the eclectic residential architecture in the Guangdong Province was described for the first time; the phases and system of the spread of eclecticism were considered; for the first time, a typology of Sino-Western architecture of residential buildings in the Guangdong Province was developed and the manifestation of European influence in the Guangdong Province was analyzed at the levels of urban planning, space-planning solutions, and decorative elements; the principles of transformation and synthesis of traditional and borrowed elements in the architecture of residential buildings in the province were revealed; a number of historical types of Chinese residential buildings, scientific terms, and a new block of foreign published sources were introduced into scientific discourse.

The research methodology includes the study of literature, functional and structural-morphological analysis of the latest implemented, planned for implementation, and competitive projects of university campuses based on publications about them. Based on the material of modern university campuses, the study: showed that the inner courtyard acts as the university’s main public space; revealed that its dominant function changes depending on the era and university affiliation; identified the main types of open public space on the territory of the modern university campus; showed architectural techniques for building the interaction of internal and external public space; characterized main architectural solutions of the internal multi-light public space; determined that the amphitheater can function as a shaping structure for the entire building of the university campus, and as an architectural dominant in the main public space; presented the main types of jobs in the public space; emphasized that the system of architectural techniques revealed in the study acts as a tool for the implementation of the latest semantic orientation for the creation of a new type of educational environment. The main trends in the modern organization of the external and internal public space of university campuses are systematically presented; for the first time the main architectural solutions that implement the task of a fundamentally new formation of the educational process were considered and defined; the construction of various new types of workplaces as a system of architectural techniques that form the public space of a university campus was demonstrated.

The research purpose is to develop principles and approaches to the formation of architectural and spatial solutions for small and medium-sized industrial enterprises. The study was carried out based on systematization of world practical experience in the architectural design of industrial enterprises and a comparative analysis of their design key principles. Also, morphological and system-oriented analyses, theoretical modeling, synthesis of promising solutions were carried out in the search for new ways for the development of industrial architecture. The study identified the main innovative modifications in the global industrial architecture of the 21st century and the types of advancing small and medium-sized businesses, as well as additional specific factors that affect the architecture of the studied enterprises; the significance of socio-economic factors for these enterprises was confirmed, their mutual correlation and dependence on the time factor of the enterprise development were revealed; a system for structuring a small industrial enterprise was developed; the principles of architectural formation of the studied enterprises were formulated; conflicts arising during the design and operation of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the mutual influence of time and five specific factors were identified; the dominant influence on the architectural formation of these enterprises was proved by the correlation of the significance of the above factors; based on the principle of architectural and investment design and the principle of using a two-phase scheme of architectural and construction investments, temporal and spatial algorithms for the formation of modern small and medium-sized industrial enterprises were proposed. The features of the architecture of small and medium-sized enterprises were described; current factors that have a dominant influence on the formation of the architecture of small and medium-sized enterprises were identified; the concept of “strategy of architectural and construction investments” was proposed; the principles of formation of the architecture of modern small and medium-sized industrial enterprises were formulated; a two-level algorithm for the architectural design of industrial enterprises of small and medium-sized businesses was proposed, considering the inevitable fluctuations in the modern socio-economic environment.

The hypothetico-deductive method – a method of theoretical study and making conclusions about empirical facts from hypotheses – was used as the most promising technique. In the study, the evolution of the spatial and functional structure of a high-rise building during the 20th-early 21st centuries was comprehensively considered and presented regarding the development of its public space: the prevailing trend in the further development of a high-rise building was determined; the dependence of the main modern trends in the design of skyscrapers on the four dominant motivations today was demonstrated; the most promising methods of building a public space were identified; the conclusion was formulated about the prospects of the spatial core, which organizes around itself the complex space of a block of floors, as a compositional technique; two main types of developed public space of a high-rise building were identified; a promising option for the development of a high-rise complex was determined – a multi-stem one; two main trends in multi-barrel construction were identified and defined; the trend of increasing influence of the construction of public space on the appearance and the entire structure of a high-rise building and complex was determined and confirmed; the most promising options for the development of high-rise structures in relation to the development of their public space were presented. The article systematically presents the historical process of development of the public space of a high-rise building; the author-developed classification of the main types of public space of a high-rise building was introduced based on their purpose, the degree of society coverage (from a particular family to the city level) and the spatial structure; the main trends in the prospective development of the public space of a high-rise building and their influence on the development of its spatial structure and external appearance were determined.

#17 Ovulatory function of the ovaries in women with type 1 diabetes mellitus in relation to the carbohydrate metabolism compensation

Abstract: The features of the reproductive system in women with type 1 diabetes mellitus, manifested in a high frequency of ovarian hormonal insufficiency, which is the leading cause of reproductive dysfunction, were studied. In this regard, the research purpose is to study the violation of the ovulatory function of the ovaries and the possibility of its recovery in women of reproductive age with type 1 diabetes, depending on the carbohydrate metabolism compensation. In the study, the clinical and laboratory characteristics of the examined women were compiled based on: the results of clinical and laboratory, and hormonal examinations; determination of anti-ovarian antibodies in the blood in the blood serum of patients using enzyme immunoassay; assessment of the degree of compensation for type 1 diabetes by the level of glycemia and the content of glycated hemoglobin A1c in the blood; evaluation of the stage of diabetic nephropathy based on a general urinalysis, urinalysis for proteinuria, a test for microalbuminuria by quantitative and semi-quantitative methods, and functional tests; ophthalmological examination; ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs; statistical processing of the obtained results using the methods of parametric and non-parametric statistics; processing the material with the statistical tools of the Excel 2010 program, a standard software package for applied statistical analysis; methods of descriptive statistics; assessment of differences in the values of quantitative indicators in different groups according to Student’s t-test for independent samples and the parametric Mann-Whitney U-44 test; comparison of frequency and nominal values according to Pearson’s chi-squared test with Yates correction and Fisher’s exact test for small samples; correlation analysis based on the Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient (r). As a result of the study, it was found that 62.2% of women with type 1 diabetes of reproductive age have ovarian insufficiency; it was determined that the frequency of occurrence of ovarian insufficiency correlates with the compensation of metabolic disorders characteristic of diabetes, insulin dose and does not depend on the insulin regimen, and in patients with anovulatory cycles – a significant decrease in the level of FSH and globulin that binds sex steroids, as well as a significant increase in the level of total and free testosterone levels compared to healthy women. It was proved that ovarian insufficiency in women of reproductive age with type 1 diabetes mellitus is associated with the carbohydrate metabolism compensation, the insulin dose, an increase in the level of total and free testosterone, a decrease in sex steroid-binding globulin, an increase in volume and a change in the structure of the ovaries. The possibility of restoring the ovulatory function of the ovaries in 61.8% of women with decompensated diabetes with anovulation or luteal phase deficiency was confirmed when diabetes compensation was achieved. A number of practical recommendations was developed for wide use in the control of women with type 1 diabetes mellitus of reproductive age: to conduct hormone testing and ultrasound examination of the pelvic organs to assess the hormonal function of the ovaries; with ovarian insufficiency, to carry out more careful control of carbohydrate metabolism and optimize insulin therapy; to re-evaluate the hormonal function of the ovaries when compensation for diabetes in women of reproductive age is achieved; to settle the issue of the advisability of hormone replacement therapy for the prevention of menstrual irregularities and proliferative diseases of the reproductive system in women who do not plan pregnancy. The study is the first to demonstrate that the volume of the ovaries, the number of antral follicles in them in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus are directly dependent on microvascular diabetic complications and the insulin dose. It was found that the level of progesterone in these patients with a preserved menstrual cycle has a significant negative correlation with the level of glycated hemoglobin. It was proved that the ovulatory function of the ovaries in women with decompensated diabetes and ovarian insufficiency can be restored in 61.8% of cases with compensation for type 1 diabetes. It was confirmed that the data on the normal level of anti-ovarian antibodies and the titer of antibodies to ovarian antigens in such women indicate the absence of the significance of autoimmune ovarian damage in the pathogenesis of ovarian failure in type 1 diabetes mellitus.
